Care & Washing Instructions for Silk Fabrics
Silk is natural protein fiber with delicate texture. Improper washing will cause fading, shrinkage, hardening and damage. Please follow the rules below.
1. Hand Washing Recommendation (Best Choice)
Use cold or lukewarm water below 30℃. Hot water destroys silk protein and leads to shrinkage.
Pick special silk/wool neutral detergent only. Never use bleach, alkaline soap, washing powder or disinfectant.
Soak clothes for 3–5 minutes. Gently press and knead dirty areas. Do not scrub hard, twist or wring violently.
Rinse thoroughly with clean cold water until no foam remains.
2. Machine Washing Rules
If machine wash is necessary, put silk into a fine mesh laundry bag. Select the gentle/silk mode with low spin speed. Separate silk items from rough fabrics like jeans to avoid pulling and pilling.
3. Drying Method
Squeeze out excess water gently instead of twisting tightly.
Hang in cool, well-ventilated shade. Direct sunlight will fade and yellow silk permanently.
Do not use a clothes dryer with high heat.
4. Ironing Tips
Iron slightly damp silk on low heat setting. Always place a thin cotton cloth between the iron and silk surface to prevent scorching marks.
5. Daily Taboos
Do not soak silk for a long time (over 10 minutes).
Keep silk away from sweat, perfume and deodorant for long contact.
Store dry silk in a ventilated place; use moth balls wrapped in paper instead of direct contact with fabrics.
